I feel like our days are finally back to normal since coming back home and back to reality after our trip to Charleston. The weather has even been pretty nice this week (even manageable) and I am most certain today marks 29 days until I have a PSL in my pretty little hands!!
Charleston was such a blast and the friends we went with helped make our trip as well!
I am the first to only want a vacation that consist of Zach and I but this trip to Charleston was so much fun, I may change my attitude about traveling with others! ha!
We were in Charleston from Thursday late afternoon until Sunday afternoon. It really was a great amount of time to see everything and eat everywhere we wanted!
Charleston reminded me of a cleaner and smaller New Orleans, the southern flare and beautiful buildings did not disappoint!
Without making this blog post a 5 day read, below is a breakdown of the places
we ate, drank and visited on our trip!
Where to Stay:
The Vendue – This hotel is in the prime location and offers so much! Our rooms were the perfect size and even included bottles of water that were replaced every day! The hotel offered us Champagne when we arrived along with snacks and really yummy fruit infused water! They offer breakfast with great coffee every morning, a happy hour with wine and hour derives at 4pm and milk and cookies at 9pm every night! I would definitely stay here again!
Where to Brunch:
82 Queen – guys….whatever you do, eat breakfast/brunch here! They have creme brûlée french toast that will change lives! If you follow me on instragram or catch my stories you saw they even allow you to have champagne poured into your mouth straight from the bottle! The drinks did look good and Zach really liked the Bloody Mary!
Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit – I may have died and gone into biscuit heaven after this meal! Zach and I shared a biscuit trio that had a biscuit with blackberry jam, one with cinnamon and cream cheese and the other made out of short bread! I also on top of sharing that trio had a breakfast sandwich that consisted of their very large yummy biscuit, egg, sausage AND PIMENTO CHEESE!! (Insert Praise Hands Here)
Where to Lunch:
Blossoms – this is the same restaurant chain as Magnolias, we are sad we could not get into Magnolias but Blossoms was really good! I had a Salmon BLT sandwich with fries and I am still dreaming of this sandwhich..surely I can recreate it here at home! Also, I am not a collard greens fan but they were so yummy here! I am most certain it had everything not good for you mixed in with greens!
Amen Street – Zach and I stopped in one night before dinner to have cocktails/mocktails here and their menu looked so good I made us eat there Sunday before we left for the airport. For an appetizer you are goin to want to get the Shrimp hotdogs…they were so good and sound so weird! I had mussels and Zach had their seafood platter, both were great! They also have frozen screwdrivers that were a big hit with the none prigs in our group!
Where to Drink:
Blind Tiger – we went here the first night we were here and totally missed they have a back courtyard area…when you walk in it looks like a complete locals bar (like they may stare) keep walking and you will see the fun!
The Vendue – along with their hotel bar that has live music at night, the Venue has a rooftop bar with the os amazing views of Charleston! The elevator is small and can only hold 8 people but it is so worth going here! If there is a line at the elevator make sure to wait, the line moves fast!

Where to Dine:
5 Church – when making reservations tell them you want to sit in the main bar area, it is sooo pretty! They have a drink menu that looks really yummy! Zach and I shared their chaccutire board of the night, Zach had fried chicken that he swore was the best fried chicken he had ever had and I had the Braided ravioli with manchego cheese! So good!
(Bar area at 5 Church, this picture does not do this place justice!)
Poogans Porch – good southern cooking! They serve biscuits before you meal comes that you do not want to pass up! I was so stuffed at this dinner that I only ordered an appetizer – the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese on them are sooo good! Zach doesn’t even like pimento cheese and he loved these too!
Things to Do:
Boone Hall Plantation – This was such a neat place to see and tour! We toured the main house and the entire plantation on their tractor tour! There have been movies filmed there including The Notebook!
(Boone Hall Plantation)
Two Sisters Tour – Zach booked this walking tour and even though it rained for the first 10 – 15 mins of our tour Theresa was great! She grew up and lives in Charleston, I think she knew everyone we passed in the street! I asked her about Southern Charm the reality show and she wasn’t happy to but she showed us where Thomas’s home was the 1st season! Definitely book this walking tour!

I hope you enjoyed and if you go to Charleston soon let me know if you try any of my recommendations!
